Fees
- How much does a consultation cost?
- A consultation with Dr. Sweety is Tk 1,000. Tests, procedures and a stay in a room are charged separately, and you will be told the cost before anything is done.
- The clinic looks expensive. Is it?
- No. The clinic is finished to a high standard because a woman coming in for something frightening should not also have to sit somewhere that makes her feel worse. The consultation fee is still Tk 1,000. The surroundings are not what you are paying for.
Appointments
- Do I need an appointment?
- It is better to book, because it means you are given a time rather than waiting. You can book on this website or by phone. If you arrive without an appointment you will still be seen, but there may be a wait.
- How far ahead can I book?
- Up to 30 days ahead, and at least an hour before the slot itself.
- What should I bring to my first visit?
- Any previous prescriptions, test reports and scan films, however old. If you are pregnant, bring your antenatal card. A note of your last period date is useful.
- Can I change or cancel my appointment?
- Yes. Please call the clinic and we will move it. Letting us know frees the slot for someone else.
Visiting
- Where is the clinic and what are the hours?
- The address and the current hours are on the contact page. Chamber hours are in the evening, Saturday to Thursday. The clinic is closed on Friday, although inpatient care continues.
- Is there a female attendant present during examination?
- Yes. A female attendant is present for every examination. You may also bring someone with you into the room.
- Can my husband or mother come in with me?
- Yes, if you want them to. It is your choice, and you can also ask to speak to Dr. Sweety alone.
Rooms and cabins
- What is the difference between a cabin and a single bed room?
- A cabin is larger, has a bed for one attendant, and has a sofa, television and refrigerator. A single bed room has the bed, an attached bathroom and a chair for one attendant. Both are air conditioned and both include the patient's meals.
- How do I book a room?
- Pick your dates on the cabins page and the site will show what is actually free. A booking is held as pending until the clinic confirms it by phone.
- Can someone stay overnight with the patient?
- Yes. One attendant may stay. Cabins have a bed for them and single bed rooms have a chair.
Treatment
- Does Dr. Sweety perform caesarean sections and normal deliveries?
- Both. Which one is right is decided with you, based on what is safest for you and the baby.
- Is the operation theatre in the same building?
- Yes. The operation theatre and the inpatient rooms are in this building, so patients are not transferred elsewhere for surgery.
- Can I ask about my symptoms in the chat?
- The chat can help with hours, fees, availability and directions. It will not give medical advice or suggest what is wrong, because that needs Dr. Sweety to see you. For anything clinical, book an appointment or call the clinic.
