Nothing is done to you without being explained first. If an operation is being suggested, you will be told why, what the alternative is, and what happens if you wait.

  • The cost is stated before anything begins, and tests and procedures are quoted up front.
  • A woman may bring her husband, her mother or a friend into the room, or ask to speak alone. A female attendant is present for every examination.
  • Questions are not an interruption. If you leave without understanding what was decided, the consultation has not done its job.
